AMHERST, Mass. – Tawakkol Karman, the first Arab woman to win a Nobel Peace Prize, will speak on “Nonviolence as a Means of Struggle, Change and Success” on Wednesday, April 4 at 3 p.m. in the Bernie Dallas Room, Goodell Hall at the University of Massachusetts Amherst.

The Nobel Peace Prize laureate Tawakkol Karman has highly praised Yemeni Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Civil Service and Insurance, Abdul-Aziz Jubari, for his decision to resign from office. 

The ousted president Ali Abdullah Saleh fell morally and practically when he ordered to shout at peaceful protestors on 18 March 2011, said Nobel Peace laureate Tawakkol Karman.

The individuals, thanks to their free will, consciousness and energy, have changed the course of history, made major transformations, developed theories and paved the way to scientific developments, said the human rights activist and Nobel Peace laureate Tawakkol Karman. 

MEXICO CITY – the Nobel Peace Prize laureate Tawakkol Karman and Mexico's Secretary of Public Education, Otto Granados Roldán, today discussed the importance of modern education systems to promote development and achieve the goals and requirements for people to engage in the labor market.

The human rights activist and Nobel Peace Prize laureate Tawakkol Karman has expressed her deepest condolences on the death of British physicist Stephen Hawking. 

At the invitation of Mexican President Enrique Peña Nieto, the human rights activist and Nobel Peace laureate Tawakkol Karman today traveled to Mexico to participate in an international festival of culture and leaders on March 15-18.
