Nobel Peace Prize laureate and huma rights defender Tawakkol Karman has declared her support for Hadramout in confronting militias funded and directed by the United Arab Emirates.

In a statement posted on her official Facebook page, Karman wrote: “I stand with Hadramout — its valley, plateau, coast, and tribal alliances — in the face of militias financed and managed by the rogue state of the UAE.”

Her remarks come amid escalating military tensions in Wadi Hadramout, where forces aligned with the Southern Transitional Council (STC), backed by the UAE, are attempting to seize control of the region. These forces, reportedly brought in from outside the province, are seeking to establish dominance over Yemen’s largest oil-rich governorate in the country’s east.
