Nobel Peace Prize-winning human rights activist Tawakkol Karman has expressed her profound condolences following the untimely passing of Major General Engineer Hassan bin Jalal Al-Obaidi,

the highly regarded Director of Yemen's Ministry of Defense's Military Industrialization Department. 

Tragically, the General was assassinated within the confines of his residence in the Egyptian capital, Cairo. Karman, in a statement, emphasized the criticality of promptly identifying and ensuring accountability for the perpetrators of this abominable act, with a steadfast commitment to swift and resolute justice.

In her statement shared on her official Facebook page, Tawakkol Karman underscored the gravity of such heinous crimes, illuminating the concerted endeavors aimed at undermining Yemen's national capabilities and competencies. 

She further highlighted how these malevolent acts fortify the Yemeni people's unyielding determination to uphold the principles of a robust, democratic, and republican Yemen. 

Karman attached utmost significance to the imperative of unmasking the culprits and expeditiously bringing them to justice, underscoring the imperative for this crime to transcend the fate of its predecessors and not be consigned to oblivion.
