Tawakkol Karman to commemorate fifth anniversary of Jamal Khashoggi's assassination at DAWN event in Washington, DC
Human rights activist and Nobel Prize laureate, Tawakkol Karman, is set to participate in an upcoming event in Washington, DC, commemorating the fifth anniversary of the tragic assassination of Saudi journalist Jamal Khashoggi.
The event, titled the "Jamal Khashoggi Remembrance & Awards Dinner," is organized by Democracy for the Arab World Now (DAWN) and will be held at the National Press Club on October 4th, from 6 to 9:30pm EDT.
This event's main goal is to honor Jamal Khashoggi, who steadfastly fought for democracy and human rights, while DAWN will take this chance to present its first-ever DAWN Integrity Awards to journalists Ayman Mohyeldin and Solafa Magdy in honor of their commitment to courageous reporting that is in line with the organization's mission.
