The University of North Dakota in the United States has announced that it will welcome the Nobel Peace Prize laureate and human rights activist, Tawakkol Karman, as a guest speaker.
The event, part of the "Eye of the Hawk" lecture series, is scheduled to take place on Thursday, September 7, 2023.
The lecture, titled "Tyranny and the Future of Democracy," will be held at the Memorial Union Hall on the university campus. Organized by the College of Arts and Sciences, the "Eye of the Hawk" lecture series aims to provide thought-provoking discussions on various topics.
Tawakkol Karman, widely recognized for her advocacy work, will share her insights on the theme of tyranny and its implications for the future of democracy. The event is expected to draw attendees from the university community and the wider public.
The lecture will commence at 7 p.m. and conclude at 8 p.m. in Ballroom 214 of the Memorial Union. This event has been made possible through the sponsorship of Rick and Jody Burgum, who have actively supported the "Eye of the Hawk" lecture series.
