Bad deed always brings punishment, Karman comments on Germany's coup attempt
The coup attempt in Germany is a natural consequence of the West's support for coups in Egypt and other Arab Spring countries, said the Nobel Peace Prize-winning human rights activist Tawakkol Karman, stressing her opposition to coups everywhere.
In a statement on her official Facebook page, Tawakkol Karman has indicated that a bad deed always brings a punishment in one way or another, adding that if freedom is not allowed to prevail, then fascism will crush everyone. She has reaffirmed that she stands for freedom in the face of coups everywhere.
According to German federal prosecutors, the police today raided premises nationwide linked to a far-right group, and arrested 25 members suspected of planning an attack on parliament.
The raids have targeted supposed members of a movement called “Reichsbürger” suspected of making concrete preparations to violently storm Germany’s federal parliament with a small armed group, according to the prosecutors.
German officials stressed that the network, part of a wider right-wing movement, was already well established with a concrete plan to overthrow the German state by force and install a new government.
