Tawakkol Karman expresses condolences to Turkish people following deadly Istanbul bombing
The Nobel Peace Prize-winning human rights activist Tawakkol Karman has expressed condolences to the Turkish people in the wake of Istanbul terrorist explosion on Sunday.
In a post on her official Facebook page, Tawakkol Karman said: “May God protect Turkey and our whole nation from the scourge of terrorism and regional and international conspiracies.”
At least 6 people were killed and 53 were killed in the bomb attack on Istiklal Street, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan announced on Sunday.
Erdogan confirmed that investigations into the explosion are still ongoing, pointing to the involvement of a woman in the bombing, stressing the authorities' determination to uncover the perpetrators.
