Nobel laureate honors two Yemeni talents following int'l competition in Istanbul
Today, Friday, the Nobel Peace Prize-winning human rights activist, Tawakkol Karman, honored two Yemenis, namely Ibrahim al-Janadi and Bilal al-Aghbari, after they won top places at an int'l Quran competition held in Turkey.
As part of her efforts to encourage young talents of various fields, Tawakkol Karman gave a cash prize of $5000 to each of them at a ceremony on this occasion at the headquarters of the Tawakkol Karman Foundation in Istanbul.
Reciter Ibrahim al-Janadi won first place in the category of memorizing the entire Holy Qur’an, while reciter Bilal al-Aghbari won fourth place in the recitation category during the competition hosted by the Turkish city of Konya.
