On Diamond Jubilee of September Revolution, Nobel laureate calls for resisting Imamate and colonialism
The Nobel Peace Prize-winning human rights activist, Tawakkol Karman, today celebrated the 60th anniversary of the Yemeni September Revolution, which marks the 26th of September each year, and she gave a speech on this occasion.
During the speech broadcast live on Belqees TV, Tawakkol Karman stated that the September 26 revolution represents today a bulwark against the Houthi militia dreaming of restoring Imamate rule overthrown on September 26, 1962, describing the Saudi-Emirati coalition as treacherous.
She stressed the need to mobilize the Yemenis on the anniversary of September so that they represent their suffering and take the task of restoring the Yemeni state by confronting the Imamate coming out of its grave with the support of Iran, calling to stand in the face of the Saudi-Emirati plot targeting Yemen and its people.
Mrs. Karman pointed out that the indisputable truth is that the Imamate always brings occupiers and colonizers, stressing that the national choice for Yemenis is to confront the Houthi Imamate and external occupation, and adhere to the Yemeni state.
Additionally, she warned the exiled government against the leniency in dealing with militias and allowing Iran, Saudi Arabia and the UAE to realize their ambitions in Yemen.
She also called for stopping the war and restoring the state according to the three references, stressing that the bet in this remains on the Yemeni people, not on failed elites and governments that have achieved nothing but sowing discord and division for their selfish interests.
