Tawakkol Karman heads for Canada to participate in global conference
Next Sunday, the Nobel Peace Prize-winning human rights activist, Tawakkol Karman, is scheduled to take part in the first foreign affairs conference organized by the National Council of Canadian Muslims (NCCM) in the Canadian capital, Ottawa.
At the conference entitled Muslim Voices on Foreign Policy, Tawakkol Karman will deliver a keynote speech under the title "Human Rights in a Changing World".
The event will shed light on the experiences and expertise of community leaders and Muslim human rights activists on how to build global policies that benefit everyone around the world.
Among the most prominent figures participating in the conference are also the author and thinker Dr. Khaled Beydoun, and Registrar of the International Residual Mechanism for Criminal Tribunals and former Attorney-General and Minister of Justice of the Republic of Gambia, Abubacarr Tambadou.
