On Wednesday, the Nobel Peace Prize-winning human rights activist Tawakkol Karman is going to attend the first-ever Nobel Prize Summit hosted by the Nobel Prize Foundation.
Tawakkol Karman will deliver a keynote speech during the virtual event's session entitled "A call an intergovernmental panel for the information environment".
The summit will bring together Nobel Laureates, scientists, policymakers, business leaders and youth leaders to discuss a main question: What can be achieved in this decade to put the world on a path to a more sustainable, more prosperous future for all humanity?
Participants will also seek to answer the question: What can we learn from our collective response to the global pandemic? How can societies distinguish between facts and fiction in a new information ecosystem?
Besides keynote words, the three-day virtual event will also experience lively discussion between the speakers on solutions to some of humanity's biggest challenges such as climate change, biodiversity loss, increased inequality and technological innovation to support community goals.
The Nobel Prize Summit is organised by the US National Academy of Sciences in partnership with the Potsdam Institute for Climate Impact Research and the Stockholm Resilience Centre.
