Tawakkol Karman wonders who persecuted males so that they should have International Day
The Nobel Peace Prize-winning human rights activist, Tawakkol Karman, has been critical of males having an International Men's Day, noting that such a claim is not consistent with the injustice and exclusion that women have been subjected to at the hands of males.
In a statement on her official Facebook page today, Tawakkol Karman wondered who has persecuted males so that they should have an own International day.
Mrs. Karman explained that the idea of International Women's Day was a reflection of solidarity with women in the face of injustices and exclusion they have been subjected throughout history, noting that women are still suffering to date around the world, albeit in different proportions.
What about to declare an international day for tyrants, dictators and monarchs in exchange for International Human Rights Day, Karman concluded sarcastically.
