Macron's attack on Islam reveals intolerance and hatred, Nobel laureate says
The Nobel Peace Prize-winning human rights activist, Tawakkol Karman, said that the remarks by French President Emmanuel Macron about Islam reveal intolerance and hatred.
In a tweet on her official Twitter account, Tawakkol Karman wrote: “Macron's attack on Islam reveals the intolerance and hatred. It is a shame for a head of state like France to be captive to such emotions.”
She added, addressing Macron: “Religious renewal and reform among Muslims is not your business. Only Muslims decide what to do in this regard,” calling on him to speak about Islam with respect and demonstrate clear acceptance.
“He has extremely incited against a significant Muslim community of his people. It's a shame what he's doing,” she continued.
Mrs. Karman saw that Macron has delivered his irresponsible inflammatory speech against Muslims and their religion to please a group of fanatics for electoral purposes, noting that such a tiny aim will lead to great woes.
When listening to Macron’s speech, she continued, one imagines as if he is beating the drums of religious war, though we are at the second decade of 21st century.
French President “Emmanuel Macron” had said that Islam today is experiencing a crisis everywhere in the world, and France must confront Islamic isolationism that seeks to establish a parallel system and disapprove the French Republic.
