Tawakkol Karman attacks Saudi Council of Senior Scholars
The Nobel Peace Prize-winning human rights activist, Tawakkol Karman, strongly criticized the Saudi Council of Senior Scholars, the kingdom's highest religious authority, saying that its members serve as drummers for the Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman.
Mrs. Karman’s remarks were a response to a statement by the religious authority, which warned against belonging to the Muslim Brotherhood and designated it as “a terrorist group taking religion as a mask to disguise its purposes in order to practice the opposite such as sedition, wreaking havoc, committing violence and terrorism”.
On her official Facebook page, Tawakkol Karman wrote: “To the group of senior drummers of MBS, the Muslim Brotherhood in Saudi Arabia is fighting for freedom, while the regime of the tyrant Bin Salman oppresses freedoms of the Brotherhood and non-Brotherhood, and his prisons are filled with whoever said, "No," but rather with everyone who is expected to say “No”.
With the fall of Mohammed bin Salman, everyone will breathe freedom and that day will undoubtedly come, she added.
She concluded by saying that Saudi Arabia is the godfather of terrorism because it is the one who created and took care of it, noting that the Saudi Council of Senior Scholars’ hands are also stained with the blood of most of the victims of terrorism across the world.
