Ms. Karman: Riyadh Agreement 2 legitimizes STC and weakens Yemeni legitimacy
The Nobel Peace Prize-winning human rights activist, Tawakkol Karman, said that the "Riyadh Agreement 2" has brought nothing new and everything was expected, stressing that it has only legitimized the separatist Southern Transitional Council (STC), and further weakened legitimacy of Yemeni President Hadi.
“Nothing new, everything was expected. The Saudi ambassador’s secretary (referring to Yemen’s puppet PM), Maeen Abdul-Malik, was assigned to form the government against Hadi’s will, aides and consultants,” wrote Tawakkol Karman on her official Facebook page.
Not even one item of Riyadh Agreement’s security and military part will be implemented, Ms. Karman expected, indicating that this means conferring greater political legitimacy on the STC and its separatist project, and further weakening the weak Hadi and his legitimacy.
She added that the military and security provisions remaining unimplemented would also mean more fighting and conflict.
“We have always emphasized that Riyadh is the problem, not the solution, as it has created and orchestrated all this great devastation, while others serve merely as puppets and tools,” she concluded.
