Tawakkol Karman pays tributes to Tunisia for protecting nascent democracy
The Nobel Peace Prize-winning human rights activist, Tawakkol Karman, paid tribute to Tunisia for its progress to protect its nascent democracy and for firm position in the face of counter-revolutions.
In a tweet, with a picture of her with Tunisian Parliament Speaker Rached Ghannouchi, on her official Twitter account, Karman wrote: "Greetings to Tunisia, the revolution and the state, as it defies the axis of counter-revolutions and goes far to protect its emerging democracy”.
This comes at a time when an attempt to withdraw confidence from the Tunisian Parliament Speaker, Rached Ghannouchi, failed, as only ninety-seven deputies supported the recall list, while it needed the support of a hundred and nine deputies.
