The human rights activist and Nobel Peace Prize Laureate Tawakkol Karman has condemned the Iran-backed Houthi militia and ousted president allied with it for a new massacre they have committed in the city of Taiz and left many dead and injured.
In a statement posted on social media, Karman stated this crime will be added to a long series of massacres the militia has committed against the city of Taiz, which has been besieged for more than a year and a half “under shameful and painful silence of the world”.
Karman stressed that there should not be any impunity, and perpetrators should be prosecuted, held accountable and punished for their crimes.
Local media reported that six civilians were killed and 19 others were wounded at noon today in indiscriminate shelling of civilian neighborhood near Sofitel intersection on the eastern side of the province of Taiz.
