To enjoy freedom and dignity, a heavy price has to be paid, human rights activist and Nobel Peace Prize Laureate Tawakkol Karman has said.
In a statement posted on her Facebook account, Karman mentioned there could not be freedom unless there are free people who are ready to pay the required price of freedom and dignity.
It is worth noting that the Iran-backed Houthi militia and forces loyal to ousted president Ali Abdullah Saleh led a coup against the internationally recognized authority represented by the democratically elected president Abdu Rabbo Mansour Hadi in January 2015, who was forced to flee the country towards the neighbouring country, Saudi Arabia.
The coup’s alliance seized control of power and all state institutions including security and military headquarters.
Since then, Yemenis supported by Saudi-led Arab coalition are struggling for retaking their state and restoring their legitimate president to power.
