The human rights activist and Nobel Peace Prize laureate Tawakkol Karman has strongly criticized the United Arab Emirates’ recent behavior in Yemen, explaining that the UAE presents itself as an occupier of Yemen. 

In a statement shared today on Twitter, Karman pointed out that the UAE today behaves as an occupying power of Yemen in clear conflict with its claim that it has come to Yemen in order to restore the legitimacy took over by ousted president and Houthis. 

“You have not restored the authority of legitimacy, rather you have replaced the coup’s takeover with your own one,” Mrs. Karman said addressing the UAE.
