Condemning the murder of the Yemeni activist M. Osman on charges of atheism on Sunday in the UAE-controlled interim capital Aden, the human rights activist and Nobel Peace Prize laureate Tawakkol Karman described the incident as a terrorist act that should be denounced by everyone.
In a statement posted today on social media, Karman called on the legitimate authority to arrest perpetrators and instigators of this crime and the previous ones committed against two other activists for the same motives.
“The criminals, who declare themselves in flagrant defiance of the law, should not go unpunished,” she added.
Gunmen suspected of belonging to the UAE-backed sheikh Hani bin Buraik who is responsible for what is known as Aden’s security belt forces killed 17-year-old M. Osman as he left a bodybuilding hall in Brega in the port city of Aden.
