The Nobel Peace Prize laureate and human rights activist Tawakkol Karman has expressed condolences to the family and lovers of the great Kuwaiti actor Abdul Hussein Abdulredha, who died in London yesterday.
The late Kuwaiti actor Abdul Hussein Abdulredha made a glittering career in acting, enriching the Kuwaiti and Arab art scene through his many serious and influential contributions, wrote Karman on social media.
She confirmed that the deceased deserved to be among the most important and greatest actors not only in Kuwait and the Gulf but also in the Arab world.
Late on Friday night, the Kuwaiti actor’s death was announced, following the deterioration of his health in London.
Born on July 15, 1939 in Dirwazat Abdul Razzaq, Sharq, Kuwait, Abdulredha was the seventh among 14 siblings.
Before starting his career as an actor, he worked in the Department of Printing of the Ministry of Guidance and Information.
After getting a scholarship to Egypt in 1956 to learn printmaking, Abdulredha went to Germany to complete his studies in printmaking arts in 1961.
His last appearance was in Ramadan this year when he made a guest appearance in the widely popular comic series “Selfie”, with one of the highest viewership rate across the Arabian Gulf.
