The human activist and Nobel Peace laureate Tawakkol Karman today met Italy's Undersecretary of State for Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation,

Vincenzo Amendola.During the meeting, they discussed the situation in Yemen and ways to reach a political solution to end the war in the country.

Mrs. Karman had arrived in the Italian capital of Rome to participate in the National Geographic Festival of Sciences that will be held from 16 to 22 April.

The Nobel laureate has given a keynote speech during the festival, discussing the challenges faced by human rights activists worldwide.
