Asian University for Women (AUW) in Bangladesh today awarded Nobel Peace Prize laureate Tawakkol Karman an honorary doctorate in recognition of her struggle to promote women's rights, human rights and anti-corruption.

Mrs. Karman received the honorary degree on the sidelines of a symposium titled “From Survival to Sustainable Development: Overcoming Challenges for Achieving a Just World”, organized by AUW on the occasion of its 10th anniversary.  

Karman participated as a keynote speaker at the daylong symposium held at the Raddison Blu Chittagong Bay View Hotel in Chattogram in Bangladesh.
