Including Tawakkol Karman, members of Arab Council for Defense of Revolutions call for stopping massacres against Palestinians
The members of the Arab Council for the Defense of Revolutions and Democracy, including the Nobel Peace laureate and human rights activist Tawakkol Karman, have strongly condemned the Israeli occupation forces for violations against the people of Gaza,
demanding an immediate cessation of Israeli massacres in Palestine.
This came at a press conference in Istanbul organized by the Arab Council for the Defense of Revolutions and Democracy, with the participation of former Tunisian President Moncef Marzouki, Noble Peace laureate Tawakkol Karman and Egyptian prominent opposition leader Ayman Nour.
Moncef Marzouki called on "the Arab governments to take at least the minimum of honorable positions towards the Palestinian cause and what is happening in the Gaza Strip."
Al-Marzouqi said Arab countries should "not leave honorable positions to other non-Arab countries, such as Turkey, Ireland and South Africa."
In her part, Nobel Peace laureate Tawakkol Karman called on the Palestinian people to bet on nobody but on themselves through peaceful marches to remind the right of return, which will expel the Israeli occupation.
Karman stressed the Palestinians' right to struggle for their rights, appealing to them to continue their struggle until victory and independence.
The Egyptian opposition leader, Ayman Nour, indicated that US President Trump came to export a sense of injustice to “our hearts, and this is an export of terrorist thought."
"We are with all forms of peaceful resistance, and we cannot deny the right of peoples to defend themselves by expressing their quest for independence and freedom of expression," Noor said in a speech at the conference.
"The Arab Council holds the rulers of the Arab countries a major responsibility in the new Nakba that has afflicted the Palestinian people because these rulers have failed to defend the Palestinian constants, said the Secretary-General of the Tunisian political Party Al-Irada, Imed Daimi.
Daimi pointed out that some Arab rulers have conspired against the rights of the Palestinian people within the framework of what became known as the Deal of the Century.
It is worth mentioning that the Arab Council for the Defense of Revolutions and Democracy was founded in 2014 and is headed by Marzouki. The constituent body of the Council consists of three prominent figures, namely Ayman Nour, Tawakkol Karman and Imed Daimi. It aims to defend the right of peoples to their choices and to unite all revolutionary forces in the countries of the Arab Spring.
It is noteworthy that at least 60 Palestinians were killed in the massacre committed by the Israeli army on Monday during a peaceful march organized to protest the siege on Gaza near the eastern border of the Gaza Strip, while 2,770 others were injured.
