Tawakkol Karman: Battle for Hodeidah begins with lie and ends with subterfuge
The Nobel Peace Prize laureate and human rights activist Tawakkol Karman said the Saudi-UAE-led battle of Hodeidah has begun with a lie and ended with a deception, warning Yemenis from becoming part of a battle of a UAE occupation and guardianship.
In a statement posted on social media, Karman wrote to say that the massive operation launched by the Arab coalition to retake the Houthi –controlled city of Hodeidah on Yemen’s Red Sea coast has ended up with a subterfuge after it had begun with a lie.
Karman pointed out that the military operation led by the UAE in Hodeidah is at least a process with a non-national agenda if not a fake battle.
“It is true that the Houthi militia is a fascist and racist group, representing the worst form of internal occupation, but the the hegemony, occupation and guardianship of the UAE is uglier and more terrible,” she continued, noting that Yemenis should not be part of such battle that only feeds the devilish greed of UAE in Yemen.
