Tawakkol Karman: Whatever the cost of ousting al-Bashir, it deserves
The Nobel Peace Prize laureate Tawakkol Karman said that no matter how much it cost to topple Omer Hassan al-Bashir, it is worth it and far less than the cost of his survival.
This came in response to Bashir's speech last Wednesday, in which he pointed out that people in the era of the Sahaba ate the trees.
Karman pointed out that the Prophet Mohammed’s companions were in an arid desolate desert, they did not have a country called the World Food Basket, that contains the longest rivers and the richest, and two million square kilometers of fertile area.
"The truth is that no matter how much the cost of bringing down this thief, the thief is worth it, and much less than the cost of his survival," said Karman on her Facebook page.
"Freedom is not free and dignity does not come without cost,” she said.
Karman said, “The Sudanese revolution is victorious, in which I see the greatness of Sudan and its great dream of a free and dignified future.”
Karman said: The tyrant al-Bashir will leave, and the rule of the military will fall down.
