Karman International Foundation organizes international conference on Yemen next month
The Tawakkol Karman International Foundation and the US National Security Center will hold an international conference on Yemen in New York next month.
A statement issued by the Tawakkol Karman International Foundation said that the international conference will be held at Fordham University on March 7 under the title "Dimensions of the Yemeni humanitarian crisis and the prospects for peace.”
The conference will be attended by leading international experts and prominent social and political figures as well as five Nobel Peace Prize laureates: Tawakkol Karman, Lima Ghaboi, Judy Williams, Muhammad Yunus and Shirin Ebadi.
The conference aims at enhancing and providing a deeper understanding of the conflict in Yemen and engaging in quarrels that lead to solutions to building a lasting peace. He pointed out that the discussions will address the root causes of the current conflict and the roles played by regional and international powers as well as human dimensions, violations of human rights and peace agreements and means to push them forward.
