The Nobel Peace Prize winner Tawakkol Karman received the 2019 Social Entrepreneur Award. The award was received at the 9th Asian Awards on Friday, 12 April 2019, at the Grosvenor House Hotel, Park Lane, London.

In her speech, Karman expressed her happiness with receiving the award, pointing out that it is a tribute to all activists and strugglers for the rights in general and rights of women in particular and defenders of democracy.

Karman said “it was my responsibility to continue struggle for the promotion of the rights, especially in the Yemeni society.”
