The Nobel Peace Prize laureate Tawakkol Karman said that all-powerful military in Sudan is a serious threat against the revolution, its objectives and the aspirations of the revolutionists.

"There will be a perilous danger until the authority is transferred to the Transitional National Council and a transitional government that runs the country and achieves the goals of the revolution and moves on to the civil democratic state," Karman said on her official Facebook page.

Karman condemned the announcement by Vice President of the Sudanese Military Council, Hamidati, that the Sudanese forces, which are participating with the Saudi-UAE coalition in the war on Yemen, will remain.

Karman said: "If this Hamidati said that the decision whether the Sudanese forces in Yemen will remain or not should be taken by the transitional government, we could say that there is an intention to transfer power from the Military Council to a transitional government and that Military Council has not any desire to control all power and circumvent against the revolution and its goals and demands.”

Karman pointed out that the withdrawal of Sudanese troops or their remaining is supposed to be a political decision to be taken by the transitional government, not Hamidati or the Military Council, “but only if the Military Council does not have the intention to transfer the authority to a civilian government that satisfies the rebels and expresses their aspirations, or if they [the Military Council] will form a puppet government that implements the Council's will and policies.”

Karman stressed that the transition to the future will not be done with the tools of Bashir and his men and his aides, “including, of course, members of the military council, and will not be through the continuation of wars of Bashir and his conflicts, problems and differences.”

"The Sudanese revolution has overthrown Bashir. Yes, this is a great goal. The first one has been achieved, but it has not yet overthrown his regime. It  will remain unless the authority is transferred from the military without circumvention or delay," Karman said.
