Karman congratulates rights activist Huda al-Sarari on winning Aurora Award for 2019
The Nobel Peace Prize Laureate Tawakkol Karman has congratulated human rights activist Huda Al-Sarari on winning the 2019 Aurora Award in recognition of her role in defending human rights and her struggle against private prisons in Yemen.
"You deserve this award with all respect," said Karman on her official Facebook page.
Al-Sarari won the 2019 Aurora Prize for Awakening Humanity along with Iraqi human rights activist Mirza Dinnayi and Nigerian lawyer Zannah Mustapha.
The award, also known as “the Nobel Prize for Human Rights", is awarded annually to people working to support the oppressed people. The award is estimated at $1.1 million.
