Karman attacks legitimacy over its condemnation of Houthi attack on Shaybah oil field
The Nobel Peace Prize winner activist Tawakkol Karman attacked Yemeni legitimacy over the latter's condemnation of a Houthi attack on Shaybah oil field.
"Legitimacy and its government condemn the targeting of Shaybah oil field," Karman said. "This is their job: guard dogs for Saudi Arabia."
Karman added: They kept silent about the coup by separatists in Aden, and woke up from their shrines to defend Saudi Arabia, condemning and yelling.
"You asked Saudi Arabia as an ally to regain your state," Karman said.
She explained that Shaybah field is a Yemeni oil field in borders of Al-Jawf, which was captured by Saudi Arabia, and his English name, "Sheba", which is distorted to "Shaybah" in Saudi media use.
Karman said: Part of this field is in Saudi border and the other part is in Yemen, but it is prohibited for Yemen to explore in the area in its territory.
She said: I read for a western specialist before 2011 who said that the basin, called Sheba, has no borders. The border is only political. It stretches between the two sides (Saudi Arabia and Yemen) but the exploration was banned in the Yemeni side due to Saudi pressure and internal collusion.”
