In the final part of her dialogue with "Araby 21" ... Tawakkol Karman: Saudi Arabia and the UAE will pay the price of treachery and betrayal in Yemen
Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates will pay the price of treason and treachery against the Yemeni people, said Nobel Peace Prize laureate Tawakkol Karman, adding that the two countries will support further coups in Yemen and will fuel political and regional divisions.
In the third and final part of the interview published by Araby 21, Tawakkol Karman stressed that "the Yemeni people will treat them (Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates) as enemies and a joint occupation, and every Yemeni will resist them, and coming generations will exchange roles and tasks to liberate their country."
"There is no way to end the crisis in Yemen except to free Yemen from Saudi custody, expelling the Emirati-Saudi occupation and resist the coup in Sana’a and Aden," she said, stressing that "legitimacy is strong, but it is constrained in Riyadh, especially as the National Army has the ability to extend its control over all areas. It is under the control of the Emirati-backed militias, but what prevents it from doing so is the coalition and the legitimacy leadership lacks for its political independence. "
Regarding the UAE's relationship with the Houthi coup militia, she said: "There is a confrontation between them. Houthi takes advantage of the UAE's policy to weaken legitimacy, and the UAE benefits from Houthi in splitting Yemen and attacking Muslim Brotherhood. I do not rule out that there is a settlement of some sort between the two parties, especially in light of the current communication between them."
