Tawakkol Karman expresses support for Lebanese revolution
The Nobel Peace Prize-winning human rights activist Tawakkol Karman has strongly expressed her support for Lebanon's popular uprising against the corrupt and failed political class.
"Yes, the people wants to overthrow the regime, Tawakkol Karman wrote on her official Facebook page, pointing out that the story of Arab Spring will go on until victory.
For the third day in a row, Lebanese are continuing their protests in the capital Beirut and elsewhere, fueled by anger over inflation and new tax proposals, including voice calls via WhatsApp and rising cost of living.
Protestors from different communities and Lebanese circles are taking part in the demonstrations, reminding of popular uprisings that erupted in 2011 and brought down four Arab presidents.
