The Nobel Peace Prize-winning human rights activist Tawakkol Karman has reiterated her solidarity with Saudi thinker and prisoner of conscience Salman al-Odah.
In her official Twitter account, Tawakkol Karman replied to a comment by al-Odah’s son, Abdullah, on his father’s sentencing hearing, saying: “Freedom to your father as a great moderate thinker and reformer! May the eyes of the cowards never taste sleep!”
Salman al Odah, a prominent Saudi scholar, has been languishing in prison since September 2017. He was arrested as a part of the kingdom’s widespread crackdown on dissent overseen by its de facto ruler, Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman (known as MBS).
