Nobel Peace Prize laureate and Yemeni activist Tawakkol Karman condemned the Israeli airstrike that struck a meeting of Houthi government ministers in Sana’a, killing several of the group’s senior figures.
In a statement on her official Facebook page, Karman denounced the strike as “brutal aggression” and part of a broader pattern of Israeli violations across the region. She said the attack represented a direct assault on Yemen’s sovereignty and independence.
Karman, a longtime critic of the Houthis, reiterated her view of the group as a “theocratic dynastic militia.” However, she emphasized that opposing the Houthis does not legitimize foreign military action, insisting that only Yemenis themselves have the right to confront and overthrow the group without external bombardment or intervention.
