Nobel Peace Prize laureate and human rights activist Tawakkol Karman has denounced renewed efforts by counter-revolutionary forces to crush the Syrian people’s aspirations for freedom and democracy.
In a statement on her official Facebook page, Karman highlighted the roles of Iran, the UAE, and other actors in obstructing the path of the Syrian revolution, working to derail the people’s pursuit of justice and self-determination.
She reaffirmed her firm belief that the Syrian revolution will endure and protect itself and its people, emphasizing that all attempts to sabotage it are doomed to fail.
Her remarks follow reports that the new Syrian administration successfully thwarted a coup attempt on the country’s coast, led by remnants of the ousted regime of Bashar al-Assad.
