Renowned human rights advocate and Nobel Peace Prize laureate, Tawakkol Karman, has issued a powerful condemnation of deadly Israeli airstrikes on southern Lebanon, while simultaneously reaffirming her stance against the Lebanese militant group Hezbollah.

The Lebanese Ministry of Health has reported a tragic toll of at least 182 people killed and 727 injured, including women, children, and paramedics, in the Israeli strikes. 

In a statement released today, Karman expressed her outrage at the "heinous Israeli massacres targeting civilians in Lebanon," calling them "crimes against humanity." She stated that her condemnation of these attacks is as strong as her condemnation of "the war of extermination and crimes of ethnic cleansing in Gaza."

However, Karman emphasized that her position on Hezbollah's "fascist terrorist" activities and its role in the Syrian conflict remains unchanged. She has consistently criticized Hezbollah's involvement in the Syrian war, calling for its withdrawal from the conflict and its accountability for human rights abuses.

"My position on Hezbollah's crimes and atrocities in Syria will not prevent me from condemning the Israeli massacres," Karman clarified. "These are two separate issues. The Israeli attacks are a clear violation of international law and a blatant disregard for human life. They must be condemned and stopped."
