Tawakkol Karman slams U.S. authorities over suppression of protesting American students
Nobel Peace Prize-winning human rights activist, Tawakkol Karman, has strongly criticized U.S. authorities for their actions against American students protesting the ongoing ethnic cleansing and genocide in Gaza.
In a statement posted on her official Facebook page, Karman condemned the U.S. security agencies for reportedly arresting over 1,700 American students during these protests, labeling it a dark day in American history.
Karman commended the courage of American students who have taken to protesting at universities across the country against the atrocities in Gaza and the ethnic cleansing campaigns.
She drew parallels between the suppression faced by American students and the repression witnessed during the Arab Spring uprisings against authoritarian regimes in the Arab world, asserting that such actions erase any distinction between the two situations.
