Nobel laureate Tawakkol Karman extends condolences to Russians following terrorist attack in Moscow
In response to the tragic events in Moscow, Nobel Peace Prize-winning human rights activist Tawakkol Karman expressed her condolences to the Russian people for the loss of numerous lives in a terrorist attack.
The attack occurred on the outskirts of Moscow, where a concert hall was targeted.
The Russian Investigative Committee has reported that the death toll from the attack has reached 115 people, with over 120 others sustaining injuries. Russian President Vladimir Putin addressed the nation in a televised speech, confirming that the authorities have apprehended the four gunmen responsible for the attack.
According to Reuters, the Islamic State claimed responsibility for the attack. In a statement posted on Telegram, the group claimed their fighters targeted "a large gathering on the outskirts of the Russian capital, Moscow," and reported their fighters' safe withdrawal.
