Nobel Laureate condemns US-British airstrikes in war-torn Yemen
Nobel Peace Prize laureate and human rights activist, Tawakkol Karman, has strongly condemned the recent US-British airstrikes targeting Sana'a and other Yemeni cities.
In a statement posted on her official Facebook page, Karman denounced the bombings as a "blatant aggression against Yemeni sovereignty" and called for an immediate end to the attacks.
"The closest and optimal solution to stop the attacks in the Red Sea begins with ending the war on Gaza, not by bombing Sana'a," Karman stated, urging alternative solutions to address the ongoing tensions.
Her statement comes in response to a joint announcement by the United States and Britain confirming the bombing of 18 targets in Yemen, citing them as retaliation for recent attacks by Houthi militias against ships in the Red Sea.
