Nobel laureate Tawakkol Karman condemns US airstrikes in Yemen
Nobel Peace Prize laureate and human rights fighter, Tawakkol Karman, has once again expressed her unequivocal condemnation and denouncement of the recent airstrikes carried out by the United States, specifically targeting the Yemeni capital of Sanaa and several other cities in the country.
Taking to her official Facebook page, Tawakkol Karman made it clear that while they held disapproval towards the Houthi militia, their main emphasis was on expressing strong condemnation and denouncement of the American airstrikes targeting the capital, Sanaa, and various other cities and sites in Yemen.
In a joint statement issued by the United States and Britain, it was announced that they had executed strikes on 36 targets associated with the Houthi militia. These strikes were allegedly aimed at underground facilities, including weapon depots, systems, missile launchers, and other capabilities.
The tensions in the Red Sea region have dramatically escalated following the direct targeting of an American ship by the Houthis on January 9. This incident follows their previous targeting of cargo ships associated with Israeli companies or involved in the transportation of goods to and from Israel. These actions were purportedly carried out as part of their solidarity efforts with the Gaza Strip.
