Renewed Condemnation by Tawakkol Karman: Targeting of Dahdouh Family Denounced, Saluting South Africa
Nobel Peace Prize laureate and human rights activist, Tawakkol Karman, has reiterated her condemnation of the targeted assassination carried out by the Israeli occupation against members of the family of Al Jazeera's Gaza Strip correspondent, Wael Al-Dahdouh.
Concurrently, she expressed appreciation for the principled stance taken by South Africa, which has formally filed a lawsuit against the occupation before the International Court of Justice.
On Sunday, January 7, 2024, Mustafa Thuraya and Hamza Wael Al-Dahdouh, journalists, were tragically killed in an Israeli airstrike on a vehicle in the Mirage area of Rafa' in the southern Gaza Strip, as reported by the Gaza Ministry of Health.
The Israeli assassination of the family of Al Jazeera correspondent, Wael Al-Dahdouh, in two successive crimes, starkly illustrates the magnitude of the ethnic cleansing massacres and the genocidal war perpetrated by the Israeli occupation against the Palestinian people. This relentless aggression has persisted for 75 years, sustained by regrettable and shameful American support, as conveyed by Tawakkol Karman on her official Facebook page.
Continuing her message, Karman expressed her unequivocal condemnation of these crimes and massacres, declaring her full solidarity with journalist Wael Al-Dahdouh and the entire journalistic family in Palestine, which she noted is facing unprecedented Israeli terrorism.
Furthermore, Karman took a moment to acknowledge and salute the State of South Africa for its significant position in filing a lawsuit against the Israeli occupation for genocide crimes committed against the Palestinian people. She highlighted the upcoming first session of the International Court of Justice scheduled for next Thursday, where this legal action will be addressed.
