Tawakkol Karman condemns assassination of Al Jazeera cameraman by Israeli forces
Nobel Peace Prize-winning human rights advocate Tawakkol Karman has vehemently denounced the targeted assassination of Samer Abu Daqqa, a cameraman for Al Jazeera, by Israeli occupation forces.
Karman firmly demanded the prosecution of Benjamin Netanyahu, his government, and military leaders, branding them as war criminals.
On her official Facebook page, Tawakkol Karman asserted, "The assassination of Al Jazeera cameraman Samer Abu Daqqa by the Israeli occupation forces is part of a systematic policy to target journalists reporting on the details of massacres and crimes of genocide and ethnic cleansing committed by the Israeli occupation against the Palestinian people in Gaza."
Karman added, "I condemn this crime and once again call for the trial of Netanyahu, his government, and military leaders as war criminals and perpetrators of atrocities against humanity." She further expressed her sincere condolences and sympathy to the family of the cameraman, Samer Abu Daqqa, as well as his colleagues and loved ones.
On Friday, Al Jazeera reported the tragic passing of Samer Abu Daqqa, a photojournalist for the network. He succumbed to injuries inflicted by a missile launched from an Israeli occupation forces' unmanned aerial vehicle, along with Wael al-Dahdouh, the director of the channel's Gaza branch. The incident occurred near Farhana School in Khan Younis, situated in the southern part of the Gaza Strip.
