Tawakkol Karman announces groundbreaking project: first specialized School for Deaf and Mute in Taiz
In a significant move towards equal educational opportunities, Nobel Peace Prize-winning human rights activist Tawakkol Karman has announced the commencement of the construction of the Belqees Basic Secondary School for the Deaf and Dumb in Taiz Governorate.
The Tawakkol Karman Foundation, under her leadership, has taken the initiative to establish the first specialized school catering specifically to the educational needs of the deaf and mute community.
Sharing her immense delight and contentment, Tawakkol Karman announced the exciting news on her official Facebook page, revealing that the Foundation had recently acquired a plot of land dedicated to the construction of the specialized school, marking the initiation of a transformative project.
"We at the Tawakkol Karman Foundation have just received a plot of land to build the Belqees Basic Secondary School for the Deaf and Dumb in Taiz, and we immediately began construction," announced Karman.
Karman confirmed that the construction is underway and expressed optimism that, in just a few months, the school will be completed and fully equipped. The project signifies a significant milestone in the pursuit of equal opportunities in education for all, reflecting Tawakkol Karman's steadfast commitment to positive societal change.
