The Nobel Peace Prize-winning human rights activist, Tawakkol Karman, has expressed her supportive stance towards the popular protests in Iran against the repressive mullahs' regime.
In a recent post on her official Facebook page, Mrs. Karman has shown her support for the popular uprising Iran is currently experiencing, describing the mullahs' regime as like a haystack that could collapse at any moment.
Commenting on the anti-regime protests participated by students from over 16 universities across the Iranian cities, she indicated that the Iranian people is very close to the moment of freedom.
“Upon the overthrow of the mullahs’ regime, its militias scattered across the region will fall down like haystacks”, the Nobel laureate continued.
The country has witnessed widespread protests since late last month, in protest of the killing of a young woman named "Mahsa Amini" at the hands of the Iranian police after she was arrested for wearing indecent clothes.
Since the Green Movement of 2009, the country has experienced the most widespread protests, many of which have included women removing the head coverings mandated by Iran’s conservative government, as a result of the death of 22-year-old Mahsa Amini at the hands of Iran’s morality police on 17 September in the Kurdish town of Saqez.
