What happens to Hadi in Riyadh is affront to dignity of Yemenis, says Noble laureate
The Nobel Peace Prize-winning human rights activist, Tawakkol Karman, has deplored the forced removal of Yemeni President Abd Rabbo Mansour Hadi by Saudi Arabia, describing it as a form of an affront to the dignity of Yemenis.
In a statement she posted today on her official Facebook page, Tawakkol Karman indicated that Saudi Arabia is an occupying country that has not satisfied itself with the physical destruction of Yemen under the pretext of restoring legitimacy, but has resorted today to morally destroying this legitimacy by interfering in Yemenis’ private affairs and their inherent right to choose who governs them.
As affirmed by Mrs. Karman, nobody is now able to communicate with President Hadi, nor even with any of his family members, since after he announced the transfer of his powers as President to a presidential council whose members are totally loyal to the UAE and Saudi Arabia.
