Tawakkol Karman: Alleged Turkish pressure on me is unfounded
The Nobel Peace Prize-winning human rights activist, Tawakkol Karman, has denied the reports of Turkish pressure on her, stressing that they are merely unfounded rumors.
In a relevant comment shared on her official Facebook page, Tawakkol Karman has confirmed she was neither subjected to Turkish pressure of any kind, nor has been informed that the Turkish authorities had asked any Yemeni activist to leave Turkish territory, noting that such news were just rumors.
Turkey's relationship with the UAE is a matter for only Turkey itself, and does not concern me, and my position against the UAE is due to its hostile policy towards Yemen and to its crimes in my country and the region, and its support for counter-revolutions, Mrs. Karman wrote.
She also pointed out that the relations between the two countries have neither positive neither negative impact on her position on the UAE.
She concluded her statement by saying that no one has guardianship over the other regarding their respective relations with others.
