The 2011 Nobel Peace Prize laureate Tawakkol Karman has congratulated the two journalists Maria Ressa of the Philippines and Dmitry Muratov of Russia on receiving the 2021 Nobel Peace Prize, describing their win as well-deserved.

In a post on this occasion on her official Facebook page, Ms. Karman said: “my congratulations to freedom fighters Maria Ressa from the Philippines and Dmitriy Muratov from Russia on winning the 2021 Nobel Peace Prize for their courageous fight for freedom of expression, and you deserve it!”.
