Nobel laureate lectures at Penn on social change and global Middle East
On Thursday, September 30, the Nobel Peace Prize-winning human rights activist Tawakkol Karman is going to give lecture entitled “Social Change and the Global Middle East”, held by the Andrea Mitchell Center for The Study of Democracy at the University of Pennsylvania.
According the center’s website, Mrs. Karman will share her perspective on the Arab Spring and its legacy ten years later, in addition to her views on the dire crisis in Yemen, the risks faced by activists and journalists in Middle Eastern countries, and the current prospects for change in the region.
