Failing to uphold principles leads State Councilor of Myanmar to this miserable and expected end, says Nobel laureate
The Myanmar chancellor, Aung San Suu Kyi, has come to a miserable and expected end because she accepted not to adhere to her principles by whitewashing the crimes of the Burmese army, said the Nobel Peace Prize-winning human rights activist, Tawakkol Karman.
In a post on Facebook, Tawakkol Karman said Suu Kyi has repudiated her principles and agreed to be a mere mop and an instrument to wash the crimes of the Burmese army that today led a coup against her.
“It is a miserable and expected end to a person who joined the government as a fighter and left it as a partner in genocide,” Mrs. Karman added.
Suu Kyi, who was the country's de facto leader under the title state counsellor, was detained after the country's powerful armed forces seized control in a coup.
